MEET DR. SORKIN

MEET DR. SORKIN

“I truly believe that orthodontics is one of the most rewarding professions in the world. The end result is healthier for the patient and gives them a beautiful smile! A smile is the first thing you notice about a person, and I love being a part of that process.” — Dr. Sorkin

Dr. Stacey Sorkin was born and raised in Louisiana. She attended Tulane University in New Orleans and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering in 1995. She then received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1999 at Boston University Dental School. The following year she completed a general practice residency at North Shore University Hospital in New York. She completed her post-graduate training in orthodontics at New York University in 2002.

Dr. Sorkin attends the annual AAO national orthodontic meeting, and takes courses on Invisalign®, Damon® self-ligating brackets, and any course that has to do with new technology. Not only does Dr. Sorkin take pride in attending continuing education classes, but her staff routinely joins her at these meetings so they can keep abreast of the latest technology and make the orthodontic experience the best it can be for our patients.

Dr. Sorkin is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Maryland State Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Association of Women Dentists, Carroll County Dental Society, and Howard County Dental Society.

Dr. Sorkin and her husband Andrew, also a dentist, settled in Maryland in 2002. They have two children, Caleb and Abby, and currently reside in Brookeville. In her free time, Dr. Sorkin enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling, especially if it’s to her home state of Louisiana for the wonderful food and music!
