Dr. Jeffrey Jarvis was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Maryland, where he attended DeMatha Catholic High School. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in marine biology prior to earning his degree in dentistry from the University of Maryland Dental School. Following dental school, he served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps and completed a residency in advanced education in general dentistry.
After four years in the Navy, Dr. Jarvis was accepted to the three-year postgraduate residency in orthodontics at the University of Maryland Dental School. He obtained his certificate in orthodontics and a master’s in oral biology.
Dr. Jarvis became a board-certified orthodontist in 2007 and was re-certified in 2012. It is his belief that learning is a lifelong endeavor. He is motivated by the fact that each education course he takes provides the chance for him to take home a little extra knowledge that allows him to offer the highest service to his patients.
During his tenure as the president of Carroll County Dental Society and the Maryland State Society of Orthodontists, it was Dr. Jarvis’s responsibility to ensure that all dentists and orthodontists were provided the highest caliber and most relevant continuing education possible. He is also a current member of the Carroll County Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists.
Dr. Jarvis grew up outside College Park, MD and now resides in Finksburg, MD with his wife Cristina and their three children: Katia, Bella-Claire, and Andre. When he’s not working, you will likely find Dr. Jarvis playing outside with his children or helping to coach his daughter’s lacrosse team.
Dr. Jarvis cares deeply about his community and enjoys volunteering in the local community planning council and the after-school programs in which his daughters are involved. Dr. Jarvis is thankful to live in an area that provides a wonderful environment for raising children. He is committed to doing his part in keeping this area a family-friendly place.
